Catherine Manning is the CEO & Program Director of SEED Workshops. A mother of four teenagers (two girls and two boys), Catherine is also a writer and activist, having campaigned for a number of years on various human rights and environmental issues. Her career began in 1987 in the Advertising then News Graphics Department at Channel Seven Melbourne, where she gained invaluable insight into the television media industry. Since leaving to raise her family and manage her own business, Catherine has also worked as Events Coordinator for The Opera Studio Melbourne, facilitating in-school accessible opera performances and community events, and as a freelance presenter/speaker working predominantly in schools with teens.
Catherine has appeared on numerous television and radio programs, including The Project, Sunrise, A Current Affair, Today Tonight, Radio National & ABC774, discussing a range of topics including the sexualisation of children, beauty pageants and pornography. She has been quoted in and written for various publications including The Age, The Sydney Morning Herald, Metro Magazine - ATOM (Australian Teachers of Media), The Hoopla, Mamamia, Grazia, and Girlfriend Magazine. She is currently also writing her first book.
