Incursion Program for Boys & Non-binary Students

Our SEED Workshops In-school Boys’ Program is fun, interactive, engaging and empowering. Each workshop draws on the most up-to-date research, ensuring all topics are relevant to boys today. Working with a whole year group and delivering a series of workshops over a full day, our experienced educators utilise a variety of mediums and teaching techniques including role-play, art therapy, music and movement, to ensure all students are engaged and learning throughout each session. Building emotional intelligence and resilience, SEED Workshops helps boys define positive masculinity, take control of their own lives, and realise their full potential. But don't take our word for it! Read their feedback and scroll down below for some of our workshop outlines.

"I had no clue what today was going to be like, but it was excellent.  The best bit was learning to be more respectful and actually use the actions of respect, even if it is to stop my way of ‘joking around’.  This program has taught me to be respectful and think before I do; that things I say may hurt someone else, and that I can be more of myself in a better way.  Today has made me feel more confident and stand up for myself and others."
Hassan, Year 10

"I
wanted to extend my heartfelt thanks for the exceptional workshop you and your team delivered yesterday. The insights you provided on masculinity and relationships were incredibly pertinent to our Year 9 boys. Your presentation resonated deeply with them and addressed important topics that are crucial at this stage in their lives. I was particularly impressed with how you engaged with the students. Your approach created a welcoming and supportive environment in the classroom, which allowed the boys to express their thoughts and feelings openly. The feedback from the students has been positive. They appreciated not only the content of the workshop but also the respectful and empathetic way in which you interacted with them. It’s clear that your efforts made a significant impact and contributed positively to their understanding of these important issues. Once again, thank you for your dedication and the positive influence you have had on our students. We look forward to the opportunity to collaborate with you again in the future."

SEED Boys' Workshops include:

Media Wise
As AI and social media use has increased, so has negative body-image and poor mental health amongst young people. Once considered an issue mostly impacting girls, body-image negativity is now one of the top anxieties also facing boys and non-binary people, with some turning to unhealthy behaviors to meet unrealistic body standards. In this workshop we examine and reveal the prevalence of the industry's tactics, empowering students to see and embrace their own style - inside and out.

Respectful Relationships
Part 1: We begin by exploring gender stereotypes and look at the pervasive influence of sexism in the media, politics and sometimes in our own lives. SEED Workshops encourages students to be aware of their rights and those of others, including the plight of those in less privileged parts of the world, fostering a deeper understanding and commitment to equality.

Part 2: This section of our (age-appropriate) workshop focuses on the emotional aspects of romantic relationships, with particular emphasis on understanding consent. We also explore the media’s handling of high-profile sexual violence cases against women, fostering critical thinking skills as we look at ways to reframe discussions around sexual assault to combat victim-blaming and reduce violence and abuse in relationships.

Assert Yourself
One of the first words we learn to say is 'NO!', yet by the time we reach adolescence we sometimes find it difficult to assert ourselves, particularly when faced with peer pressure. Using a variety of scenarios, SEED Workshops teaches students how to get themselves out of some tricky situations minus the aggression, and to set and respect boundaries.

Talking the Talk
Vincent Van Gogh once said “If you hear a voice within you saying ‘you are not a painter’, then by all means paint, and that voice will be silenced." Exploring what it means to 'be a man' and using art therapy techniques and enriching group discussions, boys will discover the power of positive self-talk as they reflect on what is most important to them.

Stress Less
In today's fast-paced world, young people are experiencing anxiety and stress at unprecedented levels.  We promote positive mental health by helping them recognise, understand and effectively manage their stress, providing a range of proven stress-busters for use in their daily lives to enhance their overall well-being and pave the way for improved learning outcomes.

The Best of Mates
When you ask young people about their most cherished connections, the answer often revolves around their friendships. We empower students to cultivate and nurture healthy relationships with their friends and peers. We explore the qualities that make friendships thrive, and identify and learn how to navigate challenging dynamics, mastering the art of respectfully resolving conflict. Integrating affirmative expression, this workshop is guaranteed to strike a chord with every participant!

Be Fine Online
Social media offers young people constant access to friends and the outside world, but it's not always positive. For many, these platforms can become avenues for bullying and harassment, sometimes with serious repercussions. SEED Workshops equips students with essential information about online risks, empowering them to foster safe and positive online experiences and to maintain a healthy digital footprint.

* Our program is individually tailored to suit your school’s timetable and is most effective when delivered as a full-day event of five to six workshops.  As well as our full-day program, we also offer a 2hr 'Respectful Relationships' session.
We look forward to working with you!
